The 15th DAM J.A.M.

Pryor, Oklahoma, 9 September 2006

We think this is the best organized bicycle ride in the world. It features 30,
50, 75, and 100-mile routes around northeast Oklahoma's scenic lakes and dams.

The 30 mile version started at 8:15 a.m.

Here's Tim with daughter Katie.

Once out of town, we went east toward Lake Hudson.

Dam J.A.M. is for everybody!

The routes are very well-marked.

There are rest stops every 10 or 15 miles with plenty of food and drinks.

Rest stops are sponsored by friendly and generous local organizations.

Here's my sweetie with our bike.

At last!

We made it! Total distance was 33 miles; our top speed was 29.7 mph, and that was with the
brakes on! Maybe that's why the bike's called "Screamer". We hit 24 mph pedaling on a flat stretch.
